Description

Join us as we celebrate our swim across Lake Ontario.

On August 13th, a group of largely inexperienced swimmers will leave the shores of Niagara on the Lake and head for Toronto. Our team will attempt a relay crossing of 52 km in support of Alzheimer's Research.

We are no Pan Am athletes. We are a group of friends and colleagues with office jobs trying to make a difference. The team of seven has been training for four months to take on the challenge of the 22-hour crossing and will face unpredictable conditions including cold waters and eight hours of darkness.

Support the team by making a contribution at http://fnd.us/c/211VJ5/sh/251GC8

Our goal is to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto. We hope this will mark the beginning of an annual event that encourages people to create memories by doing something unique with friends and family.

We are hosting a lakeside patio night with food and refreshments to help greet the team as they (hopefully) finish their harrowing journey. Please note that it is a cash bar only. There is no credit or debit cards accepted and no ATM on site.

The venue has a capacity of 140 people, so reserve your spot in advance by by clicking the following link to RSVP. Tickets are free, but we will be accepting cash donations at the door.

Feel free to come by any time after 4:00. We are hoping the swimmers will be arriving between 6:00 and 7:00. Weather and water conditions will impact swim time, so this is just a guess.
